Monggo, go, go!

Perfect ito para sa kahit anong oras ng araw, whether lunch, dinner, or even a snack. Mura, masarap, at masustansya.

Based on Ryan Raman of Healthline, Mung beans are one of the best plant-based sources of protein. They’re rich in essential amino acids, antioxidants, and nutrients that may help reduce blood pressure, LDL cholesterol levels, and heart disease risk.

Hindi lang basta masustansya at masarap ang Monggo dahil marami kang luto ang pwede magawa dito, from appetizers to desserts MongGot it all.

One of my favorite foods made of Monggo beans is hopia that you can find in most of the bakeries here in the Philippines, but if usapang hopia lang naman, Tipas Hopia is the perfect one. Tipas Hopia offers different flavors of hopia such as baboy, ube, and monggo which is my favorite. Tipas Monggo Hopia is perfect from crust to filling. The crust is so flaky but not so tough na soft enough para makagat kahit ng batang nag-iipin pa lang. Their filling is not filling for nothing, dahil lasang lasa ang monggo dito and the sweetness is perfect. This hopia is perfect as almusal kahit midnight snack pa, for only 60 pesos per box may 10 pcs. of hopia ka na.

Niluluto ito gamit ang monggo beans, sibuyas, bawang, kamatis, malunggay, bagoong ( optional ) and chicharon or baboy (optional).

This dish is perfect as it doesn't require too much meat, and more on vegetables. Maliit na gastos pero marami ang mabubusog.

Another Monggo dessert na pwede rin gawing snack na favorite ko ever since bata ako is the Monggo Donut. I still remember those days na kumakaripas ako tumakbo palabas everytime naririnig ko ang tindero sinisigaw ang salitang “donut”. Basically, it is a donut that's filled with a sweet monggo bean paste, na very similar to the filling found in monggo hopia. The dough of this donut is so soft and fluffy na talaga namang hindi mananakit ang panga mo sa pag-nguya dito. The price is very affordable, masasabi kong pang masa talaga dahil 6 pesos lang siya. Kayo ba?
